Fernandez Family Scholarship

The Scholarship Fund shall provide one partial annual scholarship of $1,000.00 over the five year period of 2023-2027 to an academically qualified graduate student in their last year of the Physician Assistant Program, who is intended to enter the field of orthopedics. Annual scholarship(s) award may be increased based upon the fund balance. The recipient(s) of the Scholarship shall be selected by the University’s Office of Student Financial Services or its successor in consultation with the Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences or his/her designee, based upon a review of submitted essays answering the question, “why do I want to practice in orthopedics and how can I best advocate for patients as a Physician Assistant within this specialty”. The criteria used in determining the recipients shall also be based upon need and/or scholastic achievement.
