Bernard Newman Memorial Scholarship
The Bernard Newman Memorial Scholarship was established in 1977 in memory of Mr. Bernard Newman, who had a distinguished career in the Courts, to provide scholarship support to a needy student in ant Criminal Justice Program of St. Vincent’s College,( the College of Professional Studies) according to the following order of priority: a full-time non-judicial court employee in any city or state court in New York City: a part -time non-judicial court employee in any city or state court in New York City; the child of such an employer; or, if such a student is not available, the award will be granted to an entering Criminal Justice major based on financial need.
