Elvira Haray Memorial Scholarship Fund

This fund was established in 2009 to provide one or more partial annual scholarships to academically qualified and/or deserving students in The School of Education. The Elvira Haray Memorial Scholarship Fund is a testament to her commitment to, and recognition of, the importance of education in a child’s life and the spirit of generosity, integrity and service to others her life came to embody. Recipients from The School of Education should be residents of Queens, NY or Long Island, NY majoring or minoring in science or mathematics. Preference will be given to students a) of minority descent or with an intention to teach minority or economically disadvantaged students or b) with a physical or learning disability or with an intention of teaching students with such disabilities.
