Queens County American Legion Scholarship Fund

This fund was established in 1986 and amended in 2012 by the Queens County American Legion. This fund is to provide one or more annual, partial, nonrenewable scholarships to academically qualified and/or deserving students who fit one of the following criteria: a) A graduating high school senior residing in Queens County, New York City, or New York State (in that order of preference or priority) with a lineal descendant of an honorably discharged veteran or service personnel of the United States Armed Forces who served during a time of conflict, or a member who died on honorable active duty. Candidates must provide proof of the veterans or service personnel war record. b) A member of the ROTC Program at St. John’s University. Preference will be given to a student who has completed their first year of study at the University. If there is no eligible candidate, the scholarship can be awarded to any member in the ROTC Program.
