Padre Pio Catholic Scholarship Fund

This Fund was established in 2025 by Paul M. and Jeanne Carroll, acknowledging the asking for the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary under her title of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, where practicing Catholics say the approved novena of prayers in her honor at the beginning of the academic year. The Scholarship Fund shall provide one or more partial annual scholarships to academically qualified undergraduate student(s) enrolled in the University’s Catholic Scholars Program (or its successor). Scholarship awards will be in the amount of $6,000 or more based upon the income available for award annually. Scholarships shall be selected by the University’s Office of Student Financial Services or its successor in consultation with the Director of the Catholic Scholars Program or his/her successor. The criteria used in determining the recipients shall be based upon financial need and/or academic achievement. This scholarship is renewable for up to five years based upon the recipients’ eligibility. Fifth year renewal candidates must be enrolled in a 5-year program at St. John’s University, who serve as mentors to undergraduate students enrolled in the Catholic Scholars Program.
