Mary Carole Schafenberg Endowed Professorship in Special Education/Autism

This Professorship was established in 2024 to provide annual support of distinguished faculty member(s) who specialize in special education in The School of Education. The Professorship shall cover the costs for course reduction, research, travel, conferences, stipend and/or additional costs for items related to the work of the faculty member appointed to the Professorship. The Professorship shall be selected by the Dean of The School of Education (SOE) and approved by the Provost, on the basis of both scholarship and pedagogy in the area of special education, with priority given to a faculty member who specializes in special education with an emphasis on autism. The recipient is eligible for reappointment at the discretion of the Dean of the School of Education.
