Howie Schwab ’82SVC Scholarship Fund
This Fund is in memory of Howie Schwab is a 1982 alumnus of St. John’s University who obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from St. Vincent’s College (presently known as The Collins College of Professional Studies). At St. John’s Howie was a writer for the University’s student newspaper, The Torch, and a member of the University’s WSJU Radio. Howie was popularly known as a sports researcher and producer who spent most of his adult life enjoying a successful career in sports media. This scholarship fund shall provide one or more partial annual scholarships to academically qualified undergraduate student(s) involved in activities supporting athletic teams at St. John’s. Activities include sportswriter, or radio personality, team manager, or equipment manager, or demonstrated commitment to university sports programs. First preference will be given to student(s) majoring in sports management who participate in aforementioned activities.
